Associations between lean mass, metabolic rate,and energy intake in SMOKERS

Smoking is thought to suppress people's appetite which likely contributes to weight gain when individuals stop smoking. This study is seeking to determine which aspects of appetite and eating behavior differ between smokers and non-smokers.
Participants will get comprehensive data about their health including resting metabolic rate, body composition, fitness (VO2 peak), physical activity and blood markers.
Requirements
- • Tobacco Smoker
- • Aged 18- 55 years
- • Men or women
- • Body mass index (BMI) 16.5 to 35 kg/m2
- • Generally exhibiting good health

About the researcher
This research study is being led by Dr James King who is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, at Loughborough University. Ms Arwa Alruwaili (PhD student) will be leading data collection, with support from all of the other members.
